2013 FOOTBALL RULES & INTERPRETATIONS

QUIZ: WEEK #7

RULING FORMAT: Team (A or B) in possession, down, distance and succeeding spot (example: A 1/10 A40). If relevant, also include other information such as whether the 25 or 40-second play clock will be used, whether the game clock starts on the ready or snap, if ZAP 10 is a factor or if there will be an extension of the period.

1. PLAY: 4th/25 A15. The snap is over punter A4's outstretched arms. A4 is chasing the ball under pressure from pursuing Team B players. At A's 6, A4 recovers the bouncing ball and slings an underhanded pass through A's end zone.

2. PLAY: Try B3. A5's kick is blocked. B44 recovers on B's 2 and advances across A's goal line. During B44's run, A55 grabbed and twisted B44's face mask and B78 blocked A5 below the waist.

3. PLAY: F/K A35. A7's free kick bounces on B's 2 and breaks the plane of B's goal line. A87 recovers the ball in B's end zone before the ball touches the ground in B's end zone.

4. PLAY: 4th/8 A42. A7 punts. B44 catches the punt on B's 20 and advances to B's 40 where he is contacted by both A66 and A88 and fumbles. A66 recovers on B's 43 while grounded. During the punt, A88 is blocked out of bounds and runs out of bounds for 20 yards before returning to the field of play.

5. PLAY: F/K A35. While the untouched free kick is rolling on A's 43, A88 blocks B62 above the waist on A's 44 and at about the same time, B96 blocks kicker A4 above the waist on A's 42. A86 recovers the untouched kick on A's 48.

6. PLAY: 4th/3 B23. A27 advances to B's 22 where he is downed. B56 piles on A27. A27 retaliates by cursing B56. The fouls are reported to the referee. Then, A78 joins in the action by shoving B56 to the ground.

7. PLAY: 4th/8 B28. A6's field goal attempt is wide left. Team A is in an illegal formation. B87 commits a personal foul against A82 on B's 22 during the kick.
