QUIZ: WEEK #12

RULING FORMAT: Team (A or B) in possession, down, distance and succeeding spot (example: A 1/10 A40). If relevant, also include other information such as whether the 25 or 40-second play clock will be used, whether the game clock starts on the ready or snap, if ZAP 10 is a factor or if there will be an extension of the period.

1. PLAY: 3rd/10 B30. The score is A26-B28. Neither team has timeouts remaining. A88 receives A17’s legal forward pass and is downed inbounds on B’s 23. The clock continues to run and then the BJ realizes that Team B played with 12 players, throws the flag and stops the clock just prior to Team A next snapping the ball. The game clock reads 12 seconds.


2. PLAY: 3rd/10 B20. The score is A27-B28. Fourth quarter. A12 is on B's 24 when he throws a backward pass out of bounds on B's 27 to conserve time. Game clock shows 0:50.


3. PLAY: 4th/goal B7. The score is A22-B29. A88 catches a legal forward pass and runs out of bounds near B's 3. B44 commits defensive pass interference on B's 1. Two seconds remain in the fourth quarter.


4. PLAY: 2nd/12 A28. A17 receives the snap and leaves the tackle box while running behind the neutral zone. A17 reverses field and is pulled down by a horse collar tackle on A's 22 while directly behind the spot where the ball was snapped.


5. PLAY: F/K A35. A4's airborne free kick is controlled by B86 while straddling the sideline (one foot inbounds, one foot out of bounds) on A's 43. The ball is actually over the field of play on A's 42 when B86 first touches the ball. A64 hits B86 late.


6. PLAY: 3rd/10 A40. A16 throws a bubble screen to A88 who catches the pass behind the neutral zone and advances for a touchdown. A84, who went downfield five yards at the snap, returns and blocks B96 below the waist and toward A's goal line on A's 39 during A88's run.


7. PLAY: 2nd/20 A30. A17's legal forward pass is complete to A88 who runs out of bounds on B's 48. Just after the pass is released, B96 grasps and twists A17's face mask.
