QUIZ: WEEK #13


RULING FORMAT: Team (A or B) in possession, down, distance and succeeding spot (example: A 1/10 A40). If relevant, also include other information such as whether the 25 or 40-second play clock will be used, whether the game clock starts on the ready or snap or if there will be an extension of the period.

1. PLAY: Fourth and 8 on A's 42. A7 punts. B44 catches the punt on B's 20 and advances to B's 40 where he is contacted by both A66 and A88 and fumbles. A66 recovers on B's 43 while grounded. During the punt, A88 is blocked out of bounds and runs out of bounds for 20 yards before returning to the field of play.


2. PLAY: Free kick on A's 30. While the untouched free kick is rolling on A's 38, A88 blocks B62 above the waist on A's 42. At about the same time and while the ball is on A's 38, B96 blocks kicker A4 above the waist on A's 37. A86 recovers the untouched kick on A's 43.


3. PLAY: Fourth and 3 on B's 23. A27 advances to B's 22 where he is downed. B56 piles on A27. A27 retaliates by cursing B56. The fouls are reported to the referee. Then, A78 joins in the action by giving B56 a shove.


4. PLAY: Fourth and 8 on B's 28. A6's field goal attempt is wide left. Team A is in an illegal formation. B87 commits a personal foul against A82 on B's 22 during the kick.


5. PLAY: Fourth and 9 on B's 44. A6's punt is illegally touched by A84 on B's 8. A83 bats the ball backward from B's 1. B74 recovers on B's 6 where he is downed. B43 blocks A21 in the back on B's 18 during the down.


6. PLAY: Second and 13 on B's 43. Just prior to the snap, B96 enters the neutral zone. B96 then moves back and A88, directly in front of B96, false starts. Whistles sound. The ball is snapped and B97 tackles the quarterback. A66 reacts and throws B97 to the ground.


7. PLAY: Fourth and 12 on A's 8. The score is A24-B27 late in the fourth quarter. A4 muffs the snap and, while the ball is rolling in A's end zone, kicks the ball out of bounds on A's 18.
