QUIZ: WEEK #12


RULING FORMAT: Team (A or B) in possession, down, distance and succeeding spot (example: A 1/10 A40). If relevant, also include other information such as whether the 25 or 40-second play clock will be used, whether the game clock starts on the ready or snap or if there will be an extension of the period.

1. PLAY: Fourth and 12 on A's 8. Score: A28-B22. Quarter: 4. Clock: 0:59. A4's untouched punt from Team A's end zone goes out of bounds on A's 40. A67 clips B96 in Team A's end zone before the ball is kicked.


2. PLAY: Third and 10 on A's 40. A16 is back to pass, is hit and the referee rules a fumble. B94 recovers, advances, is hit on A's 30 and the ball comes loose. A62 recovers while grounded on A's 25. All camera views show that A16's arm was coming forward and B94 was down before the ball came out. B56 commits a holding foul on A's 36 during B94's advance. Reviewable?


3. PLAY: Free kick on A's 30. As the kick is rolling on A's 37, A72 blocks B66 above the waist from the front and illegally touches the kick on A's 38. B77 recovers the kick on A's 41 while grounded.


4. PLAY: Fourth and 4 on A's 26. A4's scrimmage kick is blocked, lands on A's 29 and bounces back to A's 23 where the ball hits A77 in the leg. B96 recovers on A's 22 and advances to A's 2 where he fumbles. The ball hits the goal line pylon.


5. PLAY: Second and 16 on A's 34. B96 holds receiver A85 on A's 36. A15 tucks the ball and runs out of bounds on A's 42. The Team B coach challenges the play and a replay shows that A15 stepped on the sideline on A's 39. Reviewable?


6. PLAY: Fourth and 16 on B's 46. A4 punts. B44 signals for a fair catch on B's 8 by extending one arm over his head without waving the arm. B44 muffs the ball on B's 9. A89 pushes B44, catches the ball on B's 7 and advances across Team B's goal line. Team A had five players in the backfield at the snap and A89 was flagged for excessive celebration.


7. PLAY: Third and 5 on B's 15. The score is A13-B17 late in the fourth quarter. Team A has one timeout remaining. A15 scrambles and from B's 22, spikes the ball to the ground on B's 19 with 0:09 on the game clock. Clock?
