Extra Periods [Coach's Decision]


The plays situations are supposed to be such that the acceptance or declination of the penalty should be in doubt. The coach will have to make a decision.

Norway scores on the first series to make the score Norway 6 Austria 0. Austria commits a personal foul during the down.
Norway has the option to accept the half-distance penalty on the try or decline the penalty. After the try, Austria will put the ball in play from the 25. (10-2-5-a-1)

Norway scores on the first series to make the score Norway 6 Austria 0. Norway commits a personal foul after the down ends and before the ready for play on the try.
Austria will accept the penalty for the dead ball foul on the try. Norway will snap from the 18. Austria will put the ball in play from the 25. Austria may not elect to have the penalty enforced to start the next series. (10-2-5-c)

Norway kicks a successful field goal on the first series. Austria (B96), commits a flagrant personal foul during the down.
Norway may wipe out the three points and accept the 15-yard penalty (probably half-the-distance) from the previous spot with a first down. Or, Norway can take the three points by declining the penalty. Austria next puts the ball in play on the 25. DQ B96. (10-2-5-d)(10-2-3-b-1)

Norway may accept the half-distance penalty on a retry and go for two points. Or, Norway may accept the point and the penalty will be enforced for Austria's series. Austria will put the ball in play from Norway's 40. DQ B96. (8-3-3-b-1)

Norway fails to score on the first series. Austria's's legal forward pass is intercepted by Norway and advanced for a touchdown. Norway clips during Norway's run.
The score is cancelled. The extra period ends. The penalty is declined by rule. The ball will be put in play from the 25 to start the next extra period. If Norway's foul is a flagrant or unsportsmanlike conduct foul, the 15-yard penalty is enforced to start the next extra period. (3-1-3-g-1)
