2012 MINI MISSIVE #1

Blocking Below the Waist

The tackle box lite is a variation on the previously defined tackle box (2-34-1-a). The tackle box lite is bounded by the neutral zone, Team A's end line and two lines parallel to the sidelines running through the outside points on the second linemen on each side of the snapper. The tackle box lite can be no wider than the tackle box.

Before a change of team possession all offensive players (a) may block below the waist in a north-south line toward the opponent's goal line: and (b) who are beyond the neutral zone may not block below the waist at any angle toward their own goal line. Assume that these blocks do not occur in this mini missive.
